Josh Phillippe has completed his fourth Sheffield Shield half century this season. Against Tasmania, Josh scored 53 invaluable runs off 111 balls for table topping Western Australia.
Batting first Western Australia were in trouble before Josh and Sam Whiteman (151*) shared a 105 run partnership for the fifth wicket.
In nine innings this season, josh has scored 426 runs, including a Sheffield Shield best of 129 against Queensland.
At the close of play on the first day, Western Australia were 350-6.
