600 Sheffield Shield Runs

Adelaide – Moises Henriques has passed 600 Sheffield Shield runs during the 2020-21 season. After scoring 50 or more runs on four previous occasions, he added a fifth half-century as NSW claimed an exciting win over South Australia.

With both teams looking for the win, an interesting final day was in store. Chasing 295, NSW matched the run-rate, after opener David Warner (69) set the tempo.

Moises scored 78no (2 sixes, 9 fours) and together with Sean Abbott (83) the pair added 140 runs for the fourth wicket.

During his innings Moises passed 600 runs in the 2020-21 Sheffield Shield. This season, he averages 70.33 with the bat and currently stands third in the list of leading run scorers.

Moises saw NSW home with just 11 balls of the match remaining with the Blues ending on 298-4.

In six Sheffield Shield matches this summer, Moises has scored 50 or more runs in an innings in five of those games. To date, Queensland are sole State who have escaped the wrath of Moises’ bat.

The win over South Australia takes the defending champions to the top of the Sheffield Shield standings.
