8500 Runs for Scott Borthwick

Beckenham –  Scott Borthwick passed 8500 first-class runs in his innings of 95 for Surrey vs. Kent. 

In only his second Specsavers County Championship match of 2019, Scott’s first innings 95 came in 159 balls (15 fours). On reaching 93, he passed 8500 first-class runs, but then fell 5 runs short of his first century of the campaign.

In Surrey’s second innings Scott followed up by scoring 58. Surrey were all out on the third day for 280.

Kent now need to make 380 runs on the final day to win the match.
