An excellent display by England’s bowling unit restricted India to 156-6. Only Virat Kohli (77no) escaped the clutches of the England bowlers as India failed to bank a match winning total.
In reply, Jos set about the Indian bowlers. By the end of the powerplay, England were 57-1 in comparison to India’s 24-3. It took Jos just 26 balls to reach his 50 which included 3 sixes and 4 fours.
England won the match with 10 balls to spare. Jos’ innings of 83no (4 sixes, 5 fours) off 52 balls bettered his previous highest of 77no against Australia at the Ageas Bowl in September 2020.
