Josh Philippe has been pencilled in for the potential white ball tour to England. A “player of interest,” Josh was named in Cricket Australia’s preliminary list of twenty-six players announced today.
Josh had an outstanding BBL09. He was instrumental in the Sydney Sixers lifting the BBL title for a second time. In the Final, Josh’s 52 runs helped to guide the Sydney franchise to a 19 run victory over the Melbourne Stars. Recognising his contribution, the Sixers later named Josh as their Player of the Tournament.
Cricket Australia, the ECB and governmental agencies have yet to finalise the tour details. While the tour remains “provisional” the National Selectors Panel released their preliminary list to give players sufficient time to prepare.
