It’s good news for Moises Henriques and Josh Phillipe after Australia select Moises and Josh for their men’s Test and T20I squads. When the squads were announced today, Moises was named in the 18 player Test squad while Josh was included in the T20I squad.
Cricket Australia will be sending two separate squads to South Africa and New Zealand.
While the 5 T20I matches against the Black Caps will go ahead, the tour to South Africa for a three Test series remains a possibility. Discussions regarding COVID arrangements continue between Cricket Australia and the CSA; although, an announcement is expected within the next two weeks.
It is a welcome return to the men’s Test squad for Moises who will be looking to build on his four previous Test appearances.
After what is becoming yet another successful BBL, Josh will be pushing for a place in the starting XI against New Zealand in the T20Is.
Update: On Tuesday 2 February, CSA were informed by Cricket Australia that travel to South Africa would have to be rescheduled due to the ongoing public health situation in South Africa.
