Awards for Zak and Jos

Two rain-affected drawn Tests at the Ageas Bowl and an Emirates Old Trafford victory gave England a 1-0 series win vs. Pakistan. At the end of the Third Test, there were awards for both Zak Crawley and Jos Buttler. Not unexpectedly, Zak was named Player of the Match, while Jos collected the Player of the Series award.

Zak’s breakthrough first innings 267 put him in the spotlight in the Test arena. His batting technique and temperament will no doubt serve Zak well has his Test career develops. His 267 runs, lifted Zak into the top ten highest individual innings by an England player. Together with Jos, Zak set the record for the highest fifth-wicket partnership (359) for England.

Jos’ contribution with the bat was crucial in England’s series win. His four innings in the series amassed 265 runs (AVG. 88.33) including his highest Test score of 152. As-well-as his record setting fifth-wicket partnership with Zak, Jos’ First Test 75 set England on the road to victory in the first Test.
