Congratulations to Ben Stokes who has just been announced as the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Ben was presented with the famous trophy by the Princess Royal and Manchester United legend Denis Law.
This prestigious award, decided by the sporting public, is a fitting reward for Ben’s heroic efforts for England over the summer.
He steered England to a thrilling nail-bitting victory in the World Cup at Lords. Then dragged England from the jaws of defeat with an unbeaten 135 in the third Ashes test at Headingley.
