Best Yet for Joe

Joe Clarke’s blistering 136 was an innings for the T20 record books. This magnificent innings was a T20 best yet for Joe. His red-hot batting softened Northants Steelbacks to set-up Nottinghamshire Outlaws first Vitality Blast win of 2021.

Joe’s 136 came off just 65 balls and contained 11 sixes and 6 fours. Along the way he: –

  • Hit the eighth highest T20 score in England;
  • Set the highest number of T20 runs scored by an Outlaw’s batter;
  • Bettered his previous highest T20 and Vitality Blast score (124);
  • Passed 2000 T20 runs.

This was Joe’s third T20 century and his second for the Outlaws.

In 2020, Joe was awarded the Walter Lawrence Trophy for hitting the fastest 100 of the season (44 balls). Against the Steelbacks he took just five more balls (49) to reach his century (8 sixes, 4 fours).

Joe’s batting onslaught came to an end when he was caught at mid-off with just three balls of the Outlaws innings remaining.
