Leeds – England captain Joe Root joined 30 primary school students to launch The Village Green, a new volunteering scheme for Village Hotels employees.
A Village Hotels Club ambassador since 2016, Joe joined in a cricket skills workshop at the Village Hotel Club, Leeds South.
In partnership with the Yorkshire Cricket Board and supported by CricketKidz, the workshop aimed to encourage the students to take-up the game.
The Village Green initiative will offer over 30,000 hours of volunteering to local communities and will be delivered by employees at 30 Village Hotels Clubs around the country.
