Benoni – Today (3 February), England U19s defeated Sri Lanka U19s to claim the ICC World Cup Plate Final. And, Phoenix family member George Hill was a proud member of the winning team.
George’s 90 runs in the semi-final vs. Zimbabwe helped England to reach the final. George’s knock easily surpassed his previous best of 46 in ODI internationals.
In the final, England U19s lifted the Plate by overwhelmed Sri Lanka.
Batting first, England made 279-7. The highlight of the innings being Dan Mousley’s 111 (1 six, 9 fours). In reply, Sri Lanka, were all out for 127 in 31 overs.
