Jos Buttler scored his first IPL and T20 century as Rajasthan Royals overwhelmed Sunrisers at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
After scoring 130 runs from five innings, Jos gave the Royals fans an IPL innings to remember when hitting a magnificent 124 in Dehli.
Batting first, Jos and Yashashvi Jaiswal warily took just 5 runs from the first two overs. Jos remained cautious taking 33 ball to score 35 runs. He then set about the Sunrisers bowlers, his 100 (5 sixes, 10 fours) coming off 56 balls.
On reaching 124 (8 sixes, 11 fours) and the Royals on 209, Jos unluckily played on to Sandeep Sharma. The Royals batters went on to set Sunrisers 221 for the win. Chasing runs, Sunrisers stagged to 165-8 in their 20 overs, giving the Royals a 55 run victory.
Jos’ 124 is the highest IPL score made by an England player. He becomes just the fourth England player after Jonny Bairstow (114), Ben Stokes (107no) and Kevin Pietersen (103no), to hit IPL centuries.
