It’s five from the family for England. Five Phoenix Management Group family members have been included in England’s Test squad for the upcoming series vs. India.
The Phoenix five are:
Joe Root (Captain) – Yorkshire
Ben Stokes – Durham
Stuart Broad – Nottinghamshire
Jos Buttler – Lancashire
Zak Crawley – Kent
It was earlier today (21 July), that England’s Head Coach, Chris Silverwood, announced the five in his 17 player squad. The squad will assemble for the opening two of five Tests in the series.
Joe, Stuart and Zak all played in the 1-0 Test series defeat to New Zealand back in June.
Jos returns to the squad after being rested for the New Zealand series. While Ben was recalled after a period on the sidelines with a broken finger.
With The Hundred starting today, the opening Test between England and India is not scheduled until Wednesday 4 August.
