George’s First Class Debut

George Hill had made his first-class debut for Yorkshire at Emerald Headingley. George was included in the squad for the Bob Willis Trophy match against North Group table-toppers Derbyshire. His debut was assured when George was named in the Yorkshire team prior to the start of play on the first day.

Prior to signing his first professional contract with Yorkshire in June 2019, George played through the Yorkshire age-groupings as-well-as making waves with bat and ball at Sedbergh School.

Earlier this year, George was named in the England squad for the ICC U19 World Cup in South Africa.  While World Cup success evaded England, George was in the starting XI which defeated Sri Lanka to claim the Plate Final.
