Brisbane – Josh Philippe and James Vince shared an opening stand of 75 in Sydney Sixers BBL09 win vs. Brisbane Heat. Both openers hit half-centuries and together steered the Sixers onto the road marked victory. During his innings, James passed 5500 runs in T20 matches.
Batting first the Heat reached 125-8 in their 20 overs.
Opening together for the first time, the Phoenix family members were quick to apply pressure to the Heat’s bowling.
James purred to a classy 37 ball 51 (8 fours, 1 six). When scoring his second run James passed the 5500 run landmark in T20 cricket.
At the other end, Josh was in the action from the first to the last ball of the innings. His 52no (4 fours, 1 six), came off 43 balls, guiding the Sixers to a comfortable win with 25 balls to spare.
This win at the Gabba, took the Sixers within 3 points of table-topping Melbourne Stars.
