Joe Signs Yorks Deal

Headingley – Joe Root has put pen to paper and signed a new three-year deal with Yorkshire. His new contract runs until 2022.

Due to his England commitments, Joe played on just three occasions in 2018 for Yorkshire. Speaking to yorkshireccc.com Joe said, “It’s not only an opportunity to perform on the field but an opportunity to offer as much as you can, to the younger guys, off the field too.”

Joe made his County Championship debut for the White Rose in 2011. In 2014, he led Yorkshire to the LV= County Championship (Division One). In 75 innings Joe has scored three centuries and three double-centuries for his county.

After captaining England to a recent series win in Sri Lanka, Joe will be playing for Sydney Thunder in the BBL during December.
