Joe Root completed his first century of the 2021 LV=Insurance County Championship. Joe’s 101 against Kent, at The Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence, will be welcomed after his quiet start to the season.
Yorkshire were imposing on the third day and are now strong favourites to secure a final day win. While Adam Lyth (116) took start billing, Joe shared a 119-run partnership with the opener for the third wicket.
Joe’s 139 ball 101 (7 fours) helped Yorkshire to gain the upper hand with the White Rose County declaring on 330-5.
Asked to score 445 for victory, Kent were in trouble at the close of play on 33-2.
