Joe’s 130 Saves Yorks

Needing to bat out the day, Joe arrived at the crease with Yorkshire at 24-2. He received a warm welcome from fellow Phoenix Management Groups’ family member Chris Broad. The first, shortish, ball from Chris smacking plum into Joe’s helmet.

After a short delay, Joe played, an innings that demanded risk-free batting and along with Gary Balance saw out the day with a third wicket partnership of 253.

Joe’s century came in 165 balls (16 fours) before seeing out the game to its close.

Early, Joe Clarke followed his first innings 112 (190 balls,17 fours) with 97no, the Notts declaration leaving him 3 short of a second century in the game.
