Josh’s Season in Numbers

Josh Philippe’s 2019-20 season has been just stunning. Like his Sydney Sixers captain, and fellow Phoenix family member, Moises Henriques, Josh has had a sensational summer in Australia. Let’s look at Josh’s season in numbers.

Marsh Sheffield Shield

Cricket Australia called an end to the Marsh Sheffield Shield after nine matches.

Josh played in seven Sheffield Shield fixtures for Western Australia. Batting in the middle order, Josh came out to bat on thirteen occasions.

He made 369 runs (AVG. 28.38), including three half-centuries. Josh’s highest score of 65 (5 fours) off 152 balls came in the match vs. Victoria at the WACA.

Behind the stumps, Josh took 7 catches.

KFC BBL 09

It might be fair to say that Josh’s performances in the BBL outshone those in the Sheffield Shield.

In his second year with the Sixers, Josh’s batting helped the Sydney franchise win their second BBL final.

Josh’s 29 ball 52 (4 fours, 3 sixes) in the final, set-up victory over the Melbourne Stars. It also earned him the player of the match award.

In 16 BBL innings, Josh scored 487 runs (AVG. 37.46) for the Sixers. He contributed 5 half-centuries with a highest score of 83no (5 fours, 4 sixes) vs. the Adelaide Strikers.

As-well-as opening the batting for the Sixers, Josh kept wicket, taking 7 catches and 4 stumpings.
