Liam’s Important 29no

Cardiff – Liam Livingstone contributed to England’s 2-0 series win over Sri Lanka with one IT20 remaining. Liam’s important 29no helped England recover from 36-4 to record their second successive victory.

Jos Buttler was missing from the England team with a calf injury. Later it was reported that this injury will keep Jos out of the final IT20 and the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Batting first Sri Lanka struggled to 111-7 in their allotted 20 overs.

England’s reply got off to a bumpy start, by the seventh over they had slumped to 36-4.

Either side of a rain break, Liam and Sam Billings (24) turned the innings around. The stoppage brought the Duckworth-Lewis Method into play, setting a new target of 103.

Liam and Billings added 54 for the fifth wicket. After Billings dismissal, Sam Curran (16no) and Liam saw England home without any further dramas.

Liam came into this IT20 series in fine form. Between 9-17 June, Liam played five Vitality Blast matches for Lancashire Lightening hitting 254 runs and taking 5 wickets.
