Maiden First-Class Century

Ed Pollock belted his maiden first-class century on his Worcestershire County Championship debut.

Ed became the second Phoenix family member to reach three figures in the opening round of the County Championship. Following Matt Critchley’s 132 on debut for Essex, Ed pounded the Leicestershire bowlers for 112 runs.

After his move from Warwickshire at the end of 2021, Ed was looking for more red ball opportunities.

Against Leicestershire, Ed took his opportunity with both hands.

In just 113 balls he posted his maiden first-class century, helping to put Worcestershire in command on the third day.

His 112 second innings runs included 2 sixes and 10 fours and with Jake Libby (75) the openers added 163 runs.

Worcestershire declared on 234-5 with the expectation of dismissing Leicestershire on the final day.
