Marcus Chalks Up 500

Guildford – Marcus Trescothick chalks up 500 first-class innings for Somerset on the first day of the Specsavers County Championship match vs Surrey.

His first innings for Somerset was a county championship match vs Lancashire on 13 May 1993 vs. Lancashire. Since then, Marcus has played in 296 games for Somerset, he has accumulated over 19000 first-class runs for the county and made 52 centuries.

Marcus’ highest first-class innings was 284 vs. Northants in May 2007. He has also taken 31 wickets with his best return being 4-36 vs. Young Australia in July 2005.

In his 500th innings Marcus made 18 runs. Somerset were all out in their first innings for 344.
