Matt Critchley returned his best bowling figures with a match winning spell of wrist spin vs. Leicestershire. Matt’s 6-73 gave Derbyshire their second consecutive Bob Willis Trophy win, they now top the North Group with 44 points.
On Day 3 of the match, Matt had already claimed the wicket of Harry Dearden, before causing havoc amongst the Foxes batters.
Leicestershire were holding on by their finger tips at 138-5. Eleven balls and two runs later, their grip was fatally slipping with Matt taking 3 quick-fire wickets, leaving the home team on 140-8.
The inevitable was delayed, when the last two wickets added 80 runs, taking Leicestershire to 220 all out. Yet, Derbyshire required just 12 runs and duly took victory by 9 wickets.
All of Matt’s 6 wickets can be seen in the highlights from Day 3.
