Chester-le-Street – Matt Critchley took Derbyshire to 268 all out on the third day of their Specsavers County Championship match vs. Durham. Matt’s 79no helped Derbyshire to stay in touch with their hosts.
Matt guided Derbyshire’s lower order batters to within 25 runs of Durham’s first innings total of 293 all out.
While captain and opener Billy Godleman made 66, three of the top six Derbyshire batters failed to trouble the scorers.
When Matt arrived at the crease the scorebook read 128-5. He worked with the lower order, in a series of partnerships, to turn the innings around. His 50 coming in 88 balls (8 fours).
At the close of play on the third day, Durham were 160-5, giving them a 185-run lead.
