Record Making Century

Liam Livingstone hit a high octane maiden century in the first IT20 against Pakistan. Liam’s record making century stole all the headlines as England went down by 31 runs.

Pakistan set England an all time high 233 runs to chase. It was Liam who gave England supporters some hope that the improbable might be possible.

Liam strode out with England already 48-3. After being dropped at the start of his record-making knock, Liam set about the Pakistan bowlers. His relentless hitting pounded the ball from bat to boundary with such frequency that an England win was on the cards.

It took Liam just 17 balls to reach his half-century (5 sixes, 3 fours). It was the fastest IT20 50 made by an England batter. More record-making was to follow.

Liam brought up his century with his ninth six and yet again the record books needed amending. Liam’s 42 ball 100 set a new best for the fastest IT20 century scored by an England player.

Just one ball later and with 103 runs next to Liam’s name, he was dismissed in the seventeenth over.

England still required 49 runs with just three wickets remaining.

Pakistan duly wrapped up the match in the final over. The 31 run victory giving them a 1-0 lead in the three match series.
