Welsh Fire have secured the signature of Sarah Taylor. After retiring from international cricket back in 2019, Sarah returns to domestic cricket in the inaugural running of The Hundred.
Regarded as one of the finest wicket-keepers in world cricket, Sarah has taken over 200 catches and stumping in international matches. She has also scored over 6000 runs for England.
Recently, Sarah joined the coaching staff at Sussex on a part-time basis, while picking up her bat in preparation for her return in The Hundred.
Speaking to The Hundred website, Sarah said,
“There has been a real buzz about The Hundred, and especially the women’s competition. We’ve got the best players from around the world involved and the temptation to be part of it was too great to resist. I’m so excited at the prospect of playing again. It’ll be really special to get back out there and be part of a Welsh Fire side that hopefully can have a great first season.”
