Scott Scores Century

The Kia Oval – Scott Borthwick completed his second County Championship century of the season yesterday. On the first day of Surrey’s match vs. Nottinghamshire Scott scored an unbeaten 109.

Scott’s century came in 214 balls (12 fours). During his innings Scott passed both 7000 runs in the County Championship and 9000 runs in first-class matches.

At the close of play on the first day, Surrey were on 248-2 with Scott and Ollie Pope (79no) sharing a third wicket partnership of 176.

Today, only 2 overs were bowled due to rain. This gave Scott the unusual distinction of being 109no at the close of play on both the first and second day of the match.
