Semi-Final Time for Mason

It’s semi-final time for Mason Crane’s Hampshire in the Quarantine Cup. Under Mason’s skilful control, Hampshire finished second in Group 1 to qualify for the last four.

Hampshire sole loss was against Gloucestershire, who play in the other semi-final.  This loss can only be described as bizarre, revealing that sim cricket is virtually a “funny old game.”

In the semi-final, Hampshire will take on Tymal Mills’ Sussex on Saturday 9 May (7.00 pm BST). The form of both Mason and Tymal indicates a tight game is likely.

Like Hampshire, Sussex have lost just one game, but topped Group 2.

After weeks of intense virtual action both Mason and Tymal have demonstrated they are masters of the gamers arts.

It this short form of five over cricket, the outcome of the semi-final may well come down to which player holds their nerve. Both Mason and Tymal have been strategically astute and controlled in the group games.

The winners of the semi-final will face either Glamorgan or Gloucestershire in the final on Tuesday 12 May.
