Six Test Centuries in 2021

Leeds – Joe Root has now scored six Test centuries in 2021.

Joe is in supreme form – sublime artistry defines his batting at the moment.

On the second day of the Third Test against India, he yet again produced an innings that bordered on the divine.

Joe coasted to 121 off 165 balls as England amassed 423-8 at stumps – they are now in a strong position to level the series.

England’s new batting line-up laid solid foundations for Joe to create an innings of pure quality.

With a four to the cover boundary, Joe brought up his half-century. This was his seventy-third score above fifty in Tests.

His sixth century in the current calendar year, was brought up off his twelfth boundary and took 124 balls.

Such is Joe’s form, it is a shock to see his wicket fall.

In this innings, his sole mistake occurred when Joe was on 121.

A ball from Jasprit Bumrah moved off the pitch and sneaked between his bat and pad, before thumping into the middle stump.
