Stuart’s Return to Trent Bridge

This morning Stuart Broad resumed training at Trent Bridge.  Under strict ECB protocols,  Stuart’s return to Trent Bridge took into account wider concerns about the COVID pandemic.

A deserted ground welcomed Stuart upon his return – a far from normal sight on a Thursday in May.

For all cricket lovers, any attempt to remember a “normal” Thursday in May now seems as for-off as Adlestrop’s singing blackbird.

On Instagram, Stuart posted a video of him bowling alone out in the middle. He thanked the ECB and Trent Bridge for making this training session possible.

Stuart said it “felt great to be back out there having a bowl.”

The ECB have invited eighteen England bowlers to attend a series of training sessions at grounds around the country. These sessions intend to ease players back into full training, while grappling with the new COVID realities for team sports.
