Sydney Sixers Josh Philippe Joins Phoenix

Phoenix Management Group can announce the signing of Sydney Sixers Josh Philippe to our growing family of cricketing talent. The announcement was kept under wraps until late on 30 April.

Twenty-one-year Josh, was born in Western Australia and has played most of his cricket in and around Perth.

A wicket-keeper and right-hand batter, Josh has played for Western Australia and Perth Scorchers. He has also played club cricket in England (2016-17) and for Durham’s Second XI (2017).

In 2018, Josh starred in the BBL08 for the Sydney Sixers. He became a fans favourite with his hard-hitting style and smart glove work behind the stumps. The Sixers were quick to secure the long-term services of Josh, who signed a three-year contract with the Sydney franchise in April 2019.

Tweeting in February, Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) called Josh “a future star.” While early today, Ben Stokes (@benstokes38) welcomed him to the Phoenix family.

Update: Josh Philippe’s Profile has now been added to “Our Family” page.
