Yorkshire Vikings vs. Lancashire Lightening

The Vikings ran out victors by 9 runs in an enthralling Roses match.

Batting first the Vikings scored 180-4 with Harry Brook (91no) and George Hill (19no) adding an undefeated 64 for the fifth wicket.

The Lightening were thwarted in the final over when Lockie Ferguson took an hat-trick with the final 3 balls of the match.

Birmingham Bears vs. Nottinghamshire Outlaws

The Outlaws take top spot of the North Group after taming the Bears.

After the Outlaws posted 177-9, the Bears were reduced 19-5 and did not recover. Always second best against the Outlaws bowlers, the Bears were dismissed for just 63 (Ed Pollock 5).

Durham vs. Leicestershire Foxes

The Foxes successful chase of a revised target harmed Durham’s chances of progressing in the 2021 Vitality Blast.

Durham scored 115-4 off 15.1 overs (Ben Stokes 8) before the umpires took the players off for rain. The DLS Method came into play, setting the Foxes a re-calculated target of 88 from 9 overs. With 4 balls remaining, the visitors took an 8 wicket victory (Ben Stokes 1-15).

Derbyshire Falcons vs. Worcestershire Rapids

The Falcons bowlers restricted the Rapids to 167-6 (Matt Critchley 2-20). After a good start to the chase, the Falcons yet again failed to keep up with the run-rate, this time falling short by 14 runs (Matt Critchley 20).

Kent Spitfires vs. Surrey

The Spitfires climb to the top of the South Group after an 11 run win over Surrey.

Zak Crawley (24) was again amongst the runs as the Spitfires set Surrey 192 for the win. It was a total the Surrey batters could not better, finishing on 180-6.

Somerset vs. Middlesex

Somerset defeated Middlesex by 5 runs in a rain-affected match.

Somerset were all out for 152 (Tom Lammonby 4). With 16 overs completed and Middlesex on 114-6 (Tom Lammonby 1-16) rain intervened, giving Somerset the win (DLS Method).

Hampshire Hawks vs. Gloucestershire

The Hawks brought down high-flying Gloucestershire with a 10 run win. Surprisingly, this was only the Hawks second victory in the 2021 Vitality Blast.

Batting first, the Hawks scored 176-6 (James Vince 13). A target of 177, was too good for Gloucestershire who managed 166-5 (Mason Crane 0-28).
