Young Stars Shine

Phoenix Management Group’s young stars shine yet again in the Royal London Cup.

In recent days, Kasey Aldridge and George Balderson have returned their best List A bowling figures. They have now been joined by George Hill. Yesterday, George took 3-47 and recorded his best List A bowling analysis as Yorkshire defeated Warwickshire.

Yorkshire vs. Warwickshire

After scoring a List A career best 90no against Leicestershire, George Hill contributed 64 runs as Yorkshire set Warwickshire 321 to win.

Dismissed for 281 (Ed Pollock 29), Warwickshire went down to a 39 run defeat. George Hill was amongst the Yorkshire wicket-takers, taking a List A career best of 3-47 from 10 overs.

The was Yorkshire’s second win from five matches in the 2021 Royal London Cup.

Lancashire vs. Middlesex

Middlesex recorded a second group match win in their Royal London Cup campaign.

The match was on a knife-edge before the Middlesex bowlers delivered victory over Lancashire by six runs.

Batting first at the Emirates Old Trafford, Middlesex were dismissed for 257 (George Balderson 1-35).

With Keaton Jennings retired hurt, Lancashire were a batter light and finished on 251-9 with four balls of their 50 overs remaining. (George Balderson 19).

Surrey vs. Glamorgan

Nick Kimber played his second List A match for Surrey against Glamorgan.

Batting first, Surrey made an under-powered 132 (Nick Kimber 16).

Glamorgan took just under twenty-seven overs to knock-off the runs, giving them a convincing 5 wicket win (Nick Kimber 0-30).

Glamorgan top the Group 1 standings while Surrey languish in mid-table.
