Hampshire v Nottinghamshire

Hampshire recorded the first County Championship win of the 2023 season in farcical circumstances.

With Hampshire needing just one run for victory, on the third day, the umpires took the players off for tea. Twenty minutes later, the players returned only for Captain James Vince (16*) to hit the winning run in the first over.

On the first day of this encounter, Joe Clarke made a bright start to his season. Joe scored 47 off 77 balls as Nottinghamshire posted a first innings 185.

Middlesex v Essex

A brace of half-centuries by Matt Critchley helped Essex to a 97 run win over Middlesex at Lord’s. Matt scored 55 for Essex in their first innings before following up with 53.

Kent v Northamptonshire

Zak Crawley batted with patience to score 86 invaluable runs off 161 balls to help Kent to 222 in their first innings. Kent went on to secure a 7 wicket victory over Northants.
