86 Ball Century

Zak Crawley scored a breath-taking 86 ball century – the fastest by an England opener. Zak was one of four England centurions contributing to a formidable day one total and leaving the Pakistan team in some disarray.

On a flat Rawalpindi pitch, Zak set the tone for the day when he took 14 runs from the first over. Together with Ben Duckett (107), Zak added 100 runs in just 13.5 overs – England’s fastest opening stand.

On 99, Zak survived a scare when he successively reviewed an LBW decision before reaching his hasty 86 ball century. With Duckett, Zak shared a 233 run first wicket partnership, giving England a dream start.

Zak went on to score 122 (21 fours) off 111 balls before Haris Rauf claimed his wicket.

England’s positive and rapid batting took them to 506-4 at the end of a record-break day’s cricket.
