Cricket fans are Being Spoilt

Cricket fans are being spoilt with the sheer number of high quality innings currently being crafted by Joe Root.

At present, Joe is at the height of his batting powers in Test matches.

At Lord’s, Joe scored an unbeaten second innings 115* to give England victory in the opening Test against New Zealand.

Now at Trent Bridge, Joe again demonstrated he is one of England’s greatest exponents of Test match batting. He bettered his 115* by scoring a masterful first innings 176 runs and took England close to New Zealand’s 553.

The bald numbers of Joe’s innings are: 176 runs (1 six, 26 fours) off 211 balls. He now has twenty-seven Test match centuries.

Together with Ollie Pope (145), Joe kept alive England’s interest in the match – the pair sharing a 187 run partnership for the third wicket.

England were dismissed on the morning of the fourth day for 539 – 14 runs behind New Zealand.

In three innings, Joe has scored 302 runs and he currently has a series average of 100.66.
