Phoenix Management Group can announce that Sydney Thunder have completed the signings of England test players Joe Root @root66 and Jos Buttler @josbuttler for BBL 08. The Thunder play their opening match on December 21. Both Joe and Jos, are expected to be available for the first part of the season.
Averaging 35.77 with the bat in T20 internationals, England Captain Joe, will be playing in his first non-domestic T20 competition .
Speaking on the Sydney Thunder website, Joe said, he was “really excited” to be given the opportunity to play with the Thunder.
Jos returns to Spotless Stadium with a two year deal in his pocket, after playing six games for the Thunder franchise in BBL 07.
Ranked at 17, in the ICC T20I batting rankings, Jos hit 202 runs, including two half-centuries (AVG. 33.67) in his last spell with the Thunder.
