Top Drawer Batting

Top drawer batting by Joe Clarke helped to keep Melbourne Stars in the running for the final of BBL 11. Joe hit yet another half-century as the Stars overwhelmed Brisbane Heat.

Joe hit his fifth BBL 50 since Christmas Eve when making a high-quality 62 (1 six, 9 fours) in 36 balls. Together with Glenn Maxwell (37), Joe added 104 runs in 10.4 overs for the first wicket.

Chasing 150, the openers shot the Stars to a commanding position over the Heat and they duly coasted to an 8 wicket victory.

Joe’s now has 384 runs which currently places him joint second (with Josh Philippe) in the BBL 11 standings for leading run-getter.
