The two squads for two series vs. Australia have been announced by the National Selectors. Jos Buttler (IT20 and ODI) and Joe Root (ODI) have both been named in the squads. While Liam Livingstone has been named as a reserve for the IT20s.
Jos has been recalled to both the Vitality IT20 and Royal London ODI squads. After being named Player of the Series in the recent Tests vs. Pakistan, Jos now returns to the shorter formats of the game. Part of an elite band of forceful and innovative batters in white-ball cricket, Jos will have a vital role to play against the Australians.
After leading England to two home Test series in recent weeks, Joe will now be rejoining the ODI world champions, adding depth and strength to the batting line-up.
After being named for as reserve for the IT20s vs. Pakistan, Liam is still waiting in the wings to build on his two previous international outings for England. Can there be any bigger stage than a series vs. Australia for Liam to make his mark?
The Vitality and IT20 and Royal London ODI series will be held behind closed doors at the Ageas Bowl and Emirates Old Trafford.
