A valiant 148* by Nat Sciver could not stop Australia lifting the World Cup.
Australia’s impressive women’s team set England 357 for victory. And, while Nat was at the crease hopes of a consecutive World Cup final win were kept alive.
For the second time in the 2022 World Cup, Nat scored an unbeaten century against Australia.
After taking 109* off the Australian bowlers in England’s opening game, Nat’s 148* (1 six, 15 fours) came off 121 balls – bettering her previous ODI best of 137 against Pakistan.
Despite Nat’s unyielding innings, England fell 71 runs short after they were dismissed with 6 overs remaining.
Over the course of the 2022 World Cup Nat scored 436 runs and took 4 wickets.
