Playing Role - Legbreak Bowler & Right-Hand Bat
County - Hampshire & England
Date of Birth - 18 February 1997
A leg break bowler, Mason came through the Hampshire system to make his debut, as an 18-year-old, in July 2015.
By August 2015, he claimed his first “five-fer” (5-35) vs. Warwickshire and became the youngest Hampshire player to take 5 wickets in a championship innings.
In the winter of 2016-2017, Mason travelled to Australia, to play Sydney grade cricket. His impressive bowling performances led to a call-up to New South Wales, becoming the state’s first overseas player for 32 years.
At international level, Mason made his T20 debut in 2017. He was selected for the England Ashes tour of Australia in 2017-2018, playing in the 5th test at the SCG.
Mason then missed the 2018 tour of New Zealand, due to a stress fracture in his back.
Returning from injury, Mason helped Hampshire lift the 2018 Royal London One-Day Cup. Mason’s season was then unfortunately curtailed with a recurrence of his stress fracture.
