Worcestershire vs. Durham
Scott Borthwick’s Durham defeated Worcestershire by 46 runs and secured their spot in the Royal London Cup knock-out stage.
Group 1 leaders Durham batted first at New Road and posted 289-9 (Scott Borthwick 10).
Relishing their work, the Durham bowlers dismissed Worcestershire for 243 in the forty-sixth over (Scott Borthwick 2-54-10).
Durham vs. Essex
On Sunday (8 August) the top two in Group 1 clashed in a rain-affected match.
Second placed, Durham defeated Essex by 2 wickets (DLS) to take top spot in the group.
Essex posted 227-6 (Scott Borthwick 0-37-9) and in a rain-affected match, the DLS formula was applied.
A new target of 232 was chased down by Durham in the forty-fifth over (Scott Borthwick 21).
Surrey vs. Warwickshire
Surrey completed a 7 wicket win over Warwickshire.
After Warwickshire scored 289-9 (Ed Pollock 30), Surrey smoothly coasted to 269-3 in the fortieth over.
Derbyshire vs. Yorkshire
Yorkshire’s visit to Chesterfield, was reduced to a 10 over thrash.
It was afternoon before the teams emerged from the pavilion and play commenced.
The soggy home supporters seemed content with Derbyshire’s 108-6 (George Hill 1-10-1).
From the outset, Yorkshire’s batters crashed the ball all around Queen’s Park. Dominant throughout their innings, Yorkshire eased to victory with 10 balls to spare.
