England’s New White Ball Captain

Jos Buttler is England’s new white ball captain.

Earlier this week, World Cup winning captain Eoin Morgan announced his retirement from international cricket. Those speculating about the new captain were quick to name Jos as Morgan’s replacement.

Today the ECB confirmed the speculation when announcing that Jos would lead the ODI and IT20 sides.

While Morgan will be a hard act to follow, Jos was the obvious choice.

As well as being England’s vice-captain under Morgan, Jos has previously captained England in both ODIs and IT20 internationals.

Joe will not have long to wait before leading England as the first of three IT20s against India gets under way on 7 July. Following quickly on the heels of the IT20s England will then take on India in three ODIs.
