Hampshire’s Mason Crane took 5 wickets but could not prevent Lancashire keeping their County Championship hopes alive.
In a thriller at Aigburth, Mason helped to keep the match in the balance by dismissing 5 Lancashire batters during a tense day of cricket. Mason’s efforts were thwarted as Lancashire scraped home by 1 wicket. Mason recording bowling figures of 5-41 off 16 overs.
The defeat scuppered Hampshire’s own title ambitions and Warwickshire are now favourites to secure the Championship.
Earlier in the match, Mason passed 500 first-class runs. While Hampshire captain James Vince, reached 10,500 runs in first-class matches.
