A Career Best 3-39

Kasey Aldridge took three wickets in his second List A match. Returning a career best 3-39, Kasey helped Somerset defeat Glamorgan in the tightest of finishes.

Rain played its part in this Royal London Cup encounter. Before play began, the match had already been reduced to 42 overs per side.

The weather was to intervene yet again during the Somerset innings.

Somerset were 84-5 when rain forced the teams back into the pavilion.

Now playing 37 overs per innings, Somerset captain Ben Green (87) set about the Glamorgan bowlers. Thanks to Green, at innings end Somerset had scored 180-7 with Kasey on 9no.

A quick first ball in Kasey’s first over had Kiran Carlson caught behind – but at 127-4 Glamorgan looked favourites for the win.

Kasey then broke the 75 run partnership between Billy Root (37) and Tom Cullen (37) when Cullen was another batter caught behind.

His third wicket came when Joe Cooke edged behind, giving Kasey a List A career best of 3-39.

Somerset secured a thrilling win, when Glamorgan failed to hit the six runs required from the final ball.
