Best Bowling Figures

George Balderson has returned his best bowling figures in List A matches. George took 3-25 in Lancashire’s Royal London Cup defeat of Hampshire yesterday (1 August).

Hampshire reached 66-2, when George first struck in the thirteenth over. Fast-scoring Nick Gubbins (31) was looking dangerous before carving a ball off George to Steve Croft.

With just two runs added, Holland (1) was adjudged LBW off George’s bowling.

Progressing to 81-5, Hampshire then lost Weatherley (17) who became George’s third wicket in the match.

Lancashire went on to dismiss Hampshire for 162 in the forty-fourth over. George’s contribution of 3-25 from 6 overs becoming his best bowling figures in List A matches.

Just three matches into his List A career, George will be pleased with his efforts against Hampshire.

Rain had threatened throughout the day at the Ageas Bowl. The weather finally had its say with Lancashire on 115-2. No further play was possible and Lancashire ahead on DLS calculations, they claimed a 51 run win by a 51.

After defeating Hampshire, Lancashire now head Group 2.
