Excited and Proud

Congratulations to Josh Philippe after his selection for Australia’s short tour of England. Josh will be on the plane to England for two limited overs series starting in September. On Instagram Josh said he was “very excited and proud to be a part of my first Aussie tour.”

Uncapped Josh will join the 21 player squad before flying out on 23 August. On arrival, the Australians will travel to Derby where they will enter their bio-secure bubble and warm-up with four inter-squad matches. The two series start on 4 September at the Ageas Bowl with the first of three T20Is vs. England. Both squads then travel to Manchester to play three ODIs at Emirates Old Trafford,

Over the last two BBL seasons, Josh has wrapped himself in T20 glory and attracted the attention of the Australian selectors and management team.

Josh was instrumental in Sydney Sixers winning their second BBL final back in February. His 29 ball 52 setting the Sixers on the road to victory over the Melbourne Stars. During the course of BBL 09, the wicketkeeper-batter hit 487 runs in 16 innings (AVG. 37.46) while taking 7 catches and 4 stumpings with the gloves.
