Barring injury Josh Philippe looks a certainty for the first IT20 match vs New Zealand. ESPNcricinfo report Josh is a shoo-in to make his debut for Australia in Christchurch.
It is reported that captain Aaron Finch spoke to Josh, before talking to the media about the inclusion of the Sydney Sixers opener.
Finch said, Josh will “bat somewhere in the top three,” barring injury in the first IT20 on 22 February.
Josh is in prime form. He was a key player in the Sixers winning their second consecutive BBL final. During BBL 10, Josh hit 508 runs, finishing third in the top run scorers list. He was also named Player of the Tournament and selected for the Team of the Tournament.
