Marcus Honoured

Somerset have announced that the pavilion at the Cooper Associates County Ground will be renamed the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion.

The renaming of the pavilion honours Marcus’ long, and outstanding, career for the county.

Marcus called time on his career during the 2019 season. He played 296 times for Somerset amassing over 19000 runs and 52 centuries. Marcus also represented his country on 76 occasions, making over 5000 runs.

As well as opening the batting, Marcus led Somerset between 2010-2015.

The PCA made Marcus their Player of the Year on three occasions. While he was named one of Wisden’s five players of the Year in 2005.

Although his playing career may now be over, Marcus’ association with Somerset will continue after he accepted a coaching role with the county.
