Today (26 November) George Hill flies to Antigua with the sixteen strong England Under 19s squad. The tour’s focus will a 50-over tri-series against the West Indies and Sri Lanka.
The tour will be a chance for George to shine before England’s 15-player ICC World Cup squad is announced. The under-19 World Cup will take place during January-February 2020 in South Africa.
During 2019, 18-year-old George made progress for both Yorkshire and England.
After signing his first professional contract in June, George played 7 games for Yorkshire’s Second XI. In between, he led England Under 19’s during this summer’s tri-series against India and Bangladesh.
George’s progress during 2019 was recognised when he was recently named Yorkshire’s Academy Player of the Year.
